I have to make a trip to Scotland this week with work. It was decided on friday. Therefore I am unable to conduct exam preparations on thursday. This was not an initially planned lecture, so I have not found a replacement for myself. Good luck on the exam! I expect you shall all do very well. Thank you for all your effort this semester.
All mandatory assignments have been reviewed and approved. Solutions to the mandatory assignments have been posted on the detailed teaching plan.
Tomorrows lecture, that is the lecture at 26th of november, will start at 11.15 rather than the usual 10.15.
Todays lecture is postponed until next week due to illness.
Todays lecture was concerned with, among other things, N-matrices and B-matrices for quadrilateral elements. I noticed that several of you wrote the N-matrices differently than me, and I found, upon inspection, that most of you initially wrote the matrices correct according to Geir Skeies notes, and the book by Cook. My version was from other sources. I will leave a note of this issue on the page in a day or so. Please have a look for it.
Due to the postponement of the lecture from 1st of october, the mandatory assignment for chapter 5 will be due on thursday 15th of october rather than the 8th of october.
I have unfortunately become sick this week, so this weeks lecture will be postponed to next week, i.e. 8th of october.
This course has moved forward rapidly, and we need to sum up and recap. The next lecture is a summary and will hold some important clarifications. Please be prepared to raise questions if you have any.
On Thursday 8th of October the second mandatory assignment must be handed in. You will find the assignment with the lecture notes for chapter 5 in the detailed lecture plan.
On Thursday 24th of September there will be no teaching. I will be in China at that time, and therefore unavailable.
Since the syllabus is not available, the curriculum will be listed as a message. We will, in addition to the lecture plan, be using the book - [Cook et al., 2002] Cook, R. D., Malkus, D. S., Plesha, M. E., andWitt, R. J. (2002). Concepts and Applications of Finite Element Analysis. Number ISBN: 0-471-35605-0. John Wiley & Sons, Inc., 4th edition.
The deadline for mandatory assignment no. 1 is thursday 3rd of September.
Due to some technical issues with the course page, the teaching plan and the syllabus have not been presented yet. The lecture notes from the first lecture, which includes the first mandatory assignment, are given at the following link
