Syllabus for the exam: Chapters 1 and 2 will not be tested as such; they are only relevant to the extent their are needed to understand the rest of the text. Pages 52-54 (on the invariance of the Lebesgue measure under rigid motions) will not be tested, and neither will pages 92-100 on the relationship between the Riemann and Lebesgue integrals, but the students are assumed to be familiar with the statement of Theorem 11.8. The short section on distribution functions (pages 128-129) will not be tested. Otherwise all of chapters 3-13 are relevant for the exam. In chapter 19, the students are only expected to be familiar with the Radon-Nikodym Theorem 19.2 (without proof) and the Lebesgue Decomposition Theorem 19.9.
