Course description
Course content
The course is given by visiting scholars within their specialty and will vary from time to time.
The course follows the teaching in STK9205 – Short Course in Selected Topics of Statistics and will therefore be aimed at PhD students, but is?open for master's students when the course content is of special relevance.

Recommended previous knowledge
- Bachelor in statistics and at least 20 ECTS credits in statistics at Master's level.
Overlapping courses
- 5 credits overlap with STK9205 – Short Course in Selected Topics of Statistics.
Teaching
The teaching methods will vary but the main model will be an intensive week with 15 hours of lectures and 7 hours of lab work.
The course may be taught in Norwegian if the lecturer and all students at the first lecture agree to it.
Upon the attendance of three or fewer students, the lecturer may, in conjunction with the Head of Teaching, change the course to self-study with supervision.
Examination
Final written exam or final oral exam, which counts 100 % towards the final grade.
The form of examination will be announced by the lecturer by 1 October/1 March for the autumn semester and the spring semester respectively.
It will also be counted as one of the three attempts to sit the exam for this course, if you sit the exam for one of the following courses: STK9205 – Short Course in Selected Topics of Statistics

Language of examination
The examination text is given in English, and you submit your response in English.
Grading scale
Grades are awarded on a scale from A to F, where A is the best grade and F is a fail. Read more about the grading system.
