In the second lecture, we continued to discuss some basic, yet fundamental, models including the normal model, and went over Monte Carlo integration. 

This material is discussed in Chapters 2.1-2.2 in the book. 

In the first lecture, we went through some preliminaries, discussed the fundamentals of Bayesian inference, natural exponential families and conjugate priors, and some simple examples. 

The corresponding reading material in the book is Chapter 1 and parts of Chapter 2.1-2.2.

The course starts on Friday, August 22 at 9:15 in room B81 of Niels Henrik Abels house. Alex Lenkoski (http://www.nr.no/~lenkoski/) will give the first lecture.
