The Student Council at the Department of Mathematics evaluates various courses given by the Department of Mathematics each year, and this semester STK2130 is among the chosen. We therefore hope that you would take the time to answer the evaluation by using the link below. All answers are anonymous and the evaluation should take about 10 minutes to complete.

Here is some important and (hopefully) helpful information about the exam:
Curriculum: The official curriculum for the exam is:
Sections 4.1-4.9
Sections 5.1-5.4
Sections 6.1-6.5 and 6.8-6.9
Sections 7.1-7.2
Sections 10.1-10.3
There are many examples in these chapters that we have not covered in class, and you need not worry about them: The exam will be based on the material covered in the lectures.
Calculator: You are allowed to bring an approved calculator to the exam. The list of approved calculators is here (I have only found one in Norwegian). Don't worry too much about calculators; I honestly don't think you will need one.
Formula sheet:...
The physical lecture on May 19th is cancelled, but I'll make a recording reviewing Chapter 5 on exponentials distributions and Poisson processes. At some stage, I'll also do problem 2 from the exam in 2022.
The solution to the mandatory assignment is now available here.
The mandatory assignment (due March 30th) is now available here.
Due to "?pen" dag the problem session tomorrow is cancelled. I will post video recording of the solutions tomorrow. Please contact me, at eivinhto@math.uio.no, if you have any questions regarding the excercises. You can also visit me at room 802 in NHA from 12 to 14

As you have probably noticed, we have had some technical problems with the equipment in the auditoriums: The sound from the recordings in Auditorium 1 is almost inaudible, and on Wednesday I couldn't log in to the computer in Auditorium 5. I hope the log-in problem is solved now, but earlier in the week there was still a problem with the sound on the recordings from Auditorium 1.

As we now have a separate teacher (Eivind Heggelund T?rstad) for the problem sessions, we have "uncanceled" the problem session for Thursday February 2nd. Please show up if you want help with the problems.
Welcome to STK2130. For some strange reason, the lectures do not start till January 25th. The problem sessions (Thursdays 10-12) start one week later on February 2nd. All information about the course will be on this page, and Canvas will only be used for handling the mandatory assignment.
