Please find here the text of the exam, and here the outline of its solution.
As said in class, the PhD students have to hold a 15-minute presentation during the last week of the course. In particular:
- those whose last name starts with B, H or L: on Monday, November 25th;
- those whose last name starts with M, N, O and S: on Wednesday, November 27th.
Please send me by mail the topic of your presentation (preferably an application of a method we saw in class to your research project, otherwise a paper related to the course's syllabus) within November 18th.
The second mandatory assignment has been published, please see here. The ozone data can be found here.
It must be submitted via Canvas by Tuesday, November 19th (2019).
The deadline for those who need to modify something in the mandatory assignment, the deadline is October 31st.
I was informed that the script may not work if you are using the latest version of R. I added to the text of the Mandatory Assignment the link to a file which already contains the data ( in .Rdata format, so you can import the data in R with the function "load()" ).
The new version is also without typos (in the second exercise).
The first mandatory assignment has been published, please see here.
It must be submitted via Canvas by Thursday, October 17th (2019).
Please note:
- the lecture of Monday 23rd September is cancelled;
- on Wednesday 25th the lecture will be held by Odd Kolbj?rnsen (topic: neural networks).

Hi,
everyone who was not able to register for the course should try now, as the administration increased the number of places.
If you still have issues with that, please contact me or the administration.
