(The following messages were published on the page for MAT 9800, but I just realised recently that they do not automatically show up on MAT 4800 page.)

Final exam and More about mandatory assignment:

The final exam date is 4 December 2019. It is an oral exam and goes about 30-45 minutes for each student. 

For mandatory assignment: Please read one previous message on the website for the date and the format. Please send me by 15 October, the intended content of your presentation for the mandatory assignment. 

If you have any concerns about the final exam or the mandatory assignment, then remember to contact me at least 4 weeks before the event to try to resolve. 

Student representative: 

The student representative for the class is Pauline Boehringer. You can contact her if having concerns about the class.

Mandatory assignment: 

The mandatory assignment is to be performed in the class meeting on 31 October. You choose one theorem to present to the class + main idea for the proof + application to 1 specific example. The time for each presentation is 10 minutes. After the presentation, you will answer a couple of questions from the audience. 

If you have time conflict, then please let me know before 1 October, so we can arrange another time for the presentation. 

Note that if you do not do this presentation, you are not eligible to take the final exam.
