Plan & literature

We will follow chapters 3 and 4 of Hatcher's Algebraic Topology (available online).

Following chapter 3, we will cover singular cohomology. Cohomology is dual to homology, but enjoys additional structure, the so-called cup product. We will use this opportunity to discuss universal coefficient- and K¨¹nneth theorems, and then proceed with Poincar¨¦ duality.

Following parts of chapter 4, we will then discuss some aspects of homotopy theory.
