In this final version I have just added one page on geodesics.
From the textbook "Geometric Structures in Dimension two":
Chapter 1
Chapter 2 except Appendix
Sections 5.1 - 5.5
From Section 5.6: pages 137-140.
The lecture notes Submanifolds of R^n.
In this version of the notes I have added material on Gauss curvature and covariant derivatives. In Section 4 I have added the definition of orthonormal frame and changed notation for partial derivatives.
At the final lecture on Friday, you will have the opportunity to choose time slots for the oral exam.
In these updated notes I have added sections on vector fields and orientations. I have not made any changes to the previously posted material.
All students in the course are invited to participate in the course evaluation. The deadline is Wednesday the 3rd November.
