Syllabus/achievement requirements

We will go through chapters 1-5 in the notes below:

 

  • 1. Hilbert's axiom system for plane geometry

 

 

  • 2. An introduction to hyperbolic geometry

 

 

  • 3. Classification of compact,closed surfaces

 

 

  • 4. Geometry on surfaces - basic concepts

 

 

  • 5. Differential geometry on surfaces

 

 

Here are some notes related to differentiability and derivatives on manifolds. (Only in Norwegian.)

 

The final curriculum consists of the material above, except:

* Section §2.9: "Triangles and trigonometric functions in the hyperboloc plane" (page 38 - 43).

* Proposition 2.2 on orientability in §5.2 (page 6-7).
