This is the fall 2024 semester page for the course MAT3500/MAT4500 - Topology. We will use the textbook "Topology" (second edition) by James Munkres, supplemented by the lecture notes
which are based on chapters 1-5, 7 and 9 of that book. Last updates:
- August 27: correction in Remark 2.1.14.
- October 7: Sections 3.1 and 3.2 assume that (path) connected spaces are nonempty.
- October 23: minor additions in Sections 3.3, 3.4 and 3.7.
- November 5: updated claim numbers in proof of Urysohn's lemma.
