A solution to the exam problems is available here
You will get the exam papers in the language you are officially registered for (for most of you this means "bokm?l"), but the English versions will be available in the examination room — just ask for it.
Solution to the mandatory assignment is available here .
Remember that the second lecture and the problem session is interchanged this week - lecture on Thursday, problem session on Friday.
The mandatory assignments have now been corrected and you can pick up your paper at Ekspedisjonskontoret (7th floor, NHA, look in the shelves on your right as you enter the room). The new deadline for those who did not get their first attempt accepted, is Friday, November 14th, 2.30 p.m.
A brief survey of group theory is available here .
Due to a meeting we have to interchange the problem session and the first lecture next week: There will be problem session Tuesday, October 28th and lecture Thursday, October 30th. There will also be an interchange in November with problem session on Friday, November 14th and lecture on Thursday, November 13th.
We interchange the second lecture and the problem session this week - lecture on Thursday, problem session on Friday.
The mandatory assignment is now available here . With the material covered in class you have sufficient background for all the problems except the last part of problem f) (and even that should be within reach if you look through the next pages of the book).
Friday September 26th the lecture will be by Sigurd Segtnan (probably on section 29, local compactness).
Solutions to the weekly problems are available here
As there are no more copies of the textbook in the bookstore (more are ordered), I have made copies of chapters 2 and 3 for those of you have not yet got hold of the book. I'll bring the copies to class on Thursday — if you want a copy earlier, you may try to find me in my office!

Due to a meeting we interchange the problem session and the second lecture this week: Problem seesion on Friday and lecture on Thursday.
I have just got the message that Sigurd Segtnan will be teaching the problem sessions in the course. His office number is B607(previously B614). Phone number and e-mail address will be posted once he is firmly established in his new office.
I have a written a "Brief review of sets and functions" which covers the (mathematical) material of the first lecture (and a bit more). You can download it here .
As there are exchange students registered for the course, the lectures will be given in English.
We are using a new textbook this year:
James R. Munkres: "Topology", 2nd edition, Prentice Hall, 2000, ISBN: 0-13-181629-2
