Some basic facts and results about normed spaces, Hilbert spaces, and operators on them, can be found in the lecture notes "Topics in Real and Functional Analysis" by G. Teschl (these notes were used in the courses MAT4400 and MAT4410 in autumn 2012). The relevant chapters for the elementary functional analysis part are 1,2,3,4.
