Information about the exam

The exam will consist of a presentation lasting 10 minutes, followed by questions about the presentation and about the rest of the curriculum. The exam will last no more than 30 minutes. At the start of your exam, the topic of the presentation will be selected by us at random from the following list:

  1. Weak solutions, the Rankine–Hugoniot condition, and the non-uniqueness of weak solutions
  2. Stability properties of the entropy solution of scalar conservation laws
  3. Stability properties of consistent, conservative and monotone finite volume methods
  4. Convergence of consistent, conservative and monotone finite volume methods
  5. Simple solutions of the Riemann problem for nonlinear systems of conservation laws and the construction of the solution of the general Riemann problem.

You do not need to prepare a Powerpoint presentation, but feel free to use scanned, handwritten notes. Your presentation should consist of at least one (sketch of a) proof.
