Here's a tentative schedule for the oral exams. Some of the times here might change, so please keep an eye on this space.
All exams will be in the room "End of the line" at Ullev?l.
Here's an overview of the curriculum.
Monday:
10:00 -- Moe
11:15 -- F?kvam ?
12:45 -- Kylling
14:00 -- Olson
15:15 -- Vonen
Tuesday:
9:00 -- Sande ?
10:10 -- Haraldsen
As promised, here is the abridged version of the lecture notes, containing only the material relevant to the exam.
Also, the final revision lecture will be tomorrow (Friday) at 14:15--16:15, City of Gold at Ullev?l. See you there!
UPDATE: In the revision lectures I covered a few examples that were originally not in the lecture notes. These examples have been added now.
The exams will be on Monday June 11th and Tuesday June 12th.
Here's a spreadsheet with some suggestions for revision topics. Please put an `x' next to the topic you would like to review. Also feel free to add more topics from the course.
Due to the Abel lectures, I've decided to postpone Wednesday's lecture until Thursday. (See the updated tentative schedule below).
Here's an updated version of the lecture notes.
I'll compile a more compact version next week, containing only the material relevant for the exam.
On Friday there will be an extra lecture in room 126 NHA, where I will revise some of the material in the recent lectures and/or sketch the solution to the mandatory assignment. Feel free to hand in the mandatory assignment then.
Here is a tentative schedule for the lectures onwards:
We. 16. May -- Sheaves on projective schemes
Fri. 18 May (126 NHA 14:15-15) -- Repetition / Solutions to mandatory assignment
Tue. 22. May (10:15-12:00, City of Gold) -- Finish sheaves on Proj / Introduction to sheaf cohomology
Th. 24. May -- Cohomology of affine schemes and projective schemes
Tu. 29. May -- Computations with sheaf cohomology, Pic(X), .. If time permits: Cartier divisors or differentals.
We. 30. May -- Revision
Th. 31. May -- Revision
(Fri. 1. June (TBD) -- Revision)
I've added some clarifications to the mandatory assignment. (In particular, note the requirement that you need to solve at least two problems to pass.)
I've added a few extra lectures to the schedule. These will take place on Tuesdays 10-12 in room UE32 in NHA.
I'll continue tomorrow, finishing fiber products (scheme-theoretic fibers) and then move on to quasi-coherent sheaves.
I've also updated a few of the sections in the lecture notes, in particular the sections about blow-ups and the Proj-construction.
I made a few changes to the problems on the mandatory assignment. The deadline is now May 16th.
Unfortunately, there was a misunderstanding, and there was no lecture today. I apologise for this. The next lecture will be Wednesday May 2nd.
In the meantime, have a look at the mandatory assignment.
The wednesday lecture will unfortunately be cancelled due to a conflicting lecture in STK4900.
The next lecture will be Thursday 26/4 by Bernt Ivar Utst?l N?dland. I will continue with the lectures again next week.
The lecture on Monday (16/4) will unfortunately be cancelled.
Geir Ellingsrud will take the lectures on Wednesday and Thursday.
Welcome to the course MAT4215 - Algebraic geometry II.
I this course we will give an introduction to scheme theory, following Hartshorne's book (Chapters 2 and 3), and
A course on schemes
by G. Ellingsrud and myself.
