I Fourierrekka for f i oppgave 2a mangler en "k" i cosinusleddet. Det skal v?re "cos(k \pi x)" og ikke "cos(\pi x)".
If there is any doubt, the syllabus covers chapters 1 - 10 in Tveito & Winther. I've chosen not to teach Gaussian elimination, and you will not be asked about this in the exam.
Det blir en oppklaringsrunde (tidligere kalt "tr?sterunde") under eksamen. Dette skjer i form av et zoom m?te som er ?pent 10:00 - 11:00. Link til dette m?tet er:

In general, the following guidelines apply in courses at the Department of Mathematics:
- The examination lasts 4 hours. In addition, you will have an extra 30 minutes to scan and upload your PDF.
- All examination aids are allowed (e.g. books, online resources, scientific programming tools, etc.).

The second mandatory exercise is posted, deadline Thursday, April 29, at 14:30.
I'v posted a possible solution to the first mandatory exercise.
The videos/notes now (8/2) covers chapters 1 and 2 in Tveito & Winther. The parts about Gaussian elimination are not covered by videos or notes. I assume you know this from other courses.
This week's videos/notes will be about the heat equation (in 1D), chapter 3 in T&W.
The first mandatory exercise, remember the deadline: Thursday 18th of February, 14:30. You must use Canvas to submit.
Due to the covid situation the lectures and exercises will continue as videos and notes until the restrictions are lifted. When that happens I will post a message.
Please contact me (email, Skype, zoom, ...) if you have questions about PDEs or the course.
I'm not able to write this in the syllabus page. The syllabus is what I manage to cover in the lectures, more exact info will come later. Last year the syllabus was chapter 1-10 in T&W,
I've posted new notes and a video about the heat equation as well as exercises which I will go through next Friday.
I will not link exercises, notes and videos from "messages", you'll find links under "schedule".
There will be no "physical" lectures next week (18-22 January), I will post videos and notes.
I derive D'Alembert's formula for the wave equation. Video and notes.
I've made a video about the transport equation and the method of characteristics. I'm sorry for the sound problems.
I've made a video lecture covering the first part of Chapter 1, notation and linearity. You'll also find a link under "schedule". I apologise for the bad sound quality, hope to get this fixed.
