Solutions to the January 2015 exam are now available.
Solutions to the December exam are now available.
You are welcome to visit my office (609 NHA) at any time to ask questions about the course, group exercises, obligatory assignments, past exams, and sample exam questions. You can also email me to ask any questions or to make an appointment.
Your feedback on all aspects of the course is extremely valuable to me, especially due to the change in textbook this semester. So if you have not yet completed the anonymous course survey, please take the time to do so now:

Thank you for your attention and interest throughout the semester, and best luck for the exam!

I have modified Problem 12 in the sample examination questions. Please download an updated copy of the problems. It may be necessary to refresh the page (F5) after clicking the link in order to get the newest version of the problems.
Solutions to the final set of group exercises are now available from the course Schedule webpage.
I have produced a number of sample examination questions that we will work through in the final two lectures next week.
Please note that there are many more questions in the sample exam than there will be in the final exam. Also, several of the sample questions are considerably more challenging than those in the final exam.
The sample questions are intended to cover a range of topics that are not covered in the past exams. You should also study past exams carefully as part of your preparation for the final exam.
(Edit: I have fixed an error in Question 14 (c).)
Solutions to assignment 2 are now available from the course Schedule webpage.
Past exams are available using the 'oppgaver' link on the left of the course website.
An anonymous survey about various aspects of MAT2410 is available at the following link.

I would be very grateful if you could please take the time to give feedback on the course.
There were three mistakes in the group exercises as posted on Friday. These have been fixed in the current version, available 14.00 Tuesday 11/11.
Please collect your marked obligatory assignment 2 from Level 7, Niels Henrik Abels hus. See your corrected assignment for feedback.
If you did not pass, the deadline for resubmission is in two weeks' time, at 14.30 Thursday 13/11/2014. I will be available to provide assistance after 7/11/2014. Include your first submission when you hand in your second attempt.
Please note that question 5 should also include the condition that f maps zero to zero, that is, f(0) = 0.
In question 3(b)(iv) the set P is the Riemann sphere, that is, P = C together with the point at infinity. Also, in this question f can be any rational function, that is, any of the three previous cases where n<m, n>m, or n=m. Thus to answer 3(b)(iv) it is necessary to consider each of these three cases. In each case you need to consider all the poles and zeros of f in the complex plane together with any poles or zeros that f might have at infinity, and prove that the given statement is true.
Please note that I will be out of the office Wednesday 12.30-16.00, and also out of the office Thursday 10-14.30.
I will be away on Friday 31.October and Monday 3.November, and have canceled the lectures for those days. I have also canceled the group session on Wednesday 5.November. Lectures will resume on Friday 7.November.
If you downloaded these before kl. 10.00 Friday morning then please download them again, as two new questions have been added and a question slightly altered.
