Hello, and welcome to MAT2200 - Groups, Rings and Fields.?

We will follow Fraleigh's textbook A first course in abstract algebra linearly from section 2 to 53, skipping some of the sections. The precise syllabus is found here, and a plan for our progression, with suggested weekly exercises, is found here.

There are two mandatory assignments in the course, due 26 Feb and 9 April. Each assignment will be posted here two weeks before the due date. Your solutions are to be submitted in Canvas, and every submitted solution is automatically given a passing grade.
