REPORT

A report from the laboratory course discussing the structural information obtained from the various experiments will be handed in.? The report should contain a theoretical and general description of each experiment, followed by a discussion of the results obtained. Here you describe what the experiments tell about the structure of the actual compound. Include connectivity, stereochemistry and spatial organization if it is possible. The results should be presented in words and tables. Particularly - cross correlations must be presented in tables for the COSY; TOCSY; NOESY; ROESY; COLOC and HETCOR experiments. All the spectra must be included. Also include a discussion of the experiments that you did on the ethylbenzene sample. What do you get from them, what is the theory behind, would they be useful to apply to your sample (in that case, you are welcome to do that experiment too).

Finally a conclusion discussing the possibility of obtaining full structural determination of your molecule by the methods applied must be added. Is it necessary to do other experiments, and what experiments would be useful? What does your observations and NMR experiments tell you about your molecule and its chemical and physical properties.

If you have questions you can contact Bror at the NMR lab on Wednesdays or by e-mail b.j.wik@kjemi.uio.no.

The report must be handed in to Bror J. Wik before 12.00 on Friday 28th of November 2003.
