Thereafter, we will walk to 澳门葡京手机版app下载sparken and do a mandatory post-processing of what we saw and the data we got + see Sakis' demo of the rotating disk electrode.
We will also discuss exam and exercises for it.
As before - call me at 99257611 if you get lost or have questions.

Dear all, as Sakis has caught corona, the RDE demo must be omitted this Wednesday. The tour of the Electrochemistry lab as well as the lab report workshop with Sara run as announced in the preceding message, though. Meet in the reception of 澳门葡京手机版app下载sparken at 12.15.

This Monday we will have regular lectures. We go through Ch 16 Transient voltammetry, as it covers the Rotating disk electrode demo (Lab 2d) we will do on Wednesday.
Chs 13-15 will be covered in the following weeks.
Wednesday 27/4 all teaching is moved to Oslo Science Park (澳门葡京手机版app下载sparken), Gaustadalleen 21. Meet in the reception area at 12.15 - Sara or Sakis will pick you up. If you are late, go to FERMiO (one floor down) and find the others in meeting room "Agora". Ask people - they will help. During the day - expectedly until 16 max, you will take part in the demo of Lab 2d, do some calculations (instead of handing in a report on it) and spend available time to finish labs and reports for Labs 1 and 2.
There is also a tour of the solid-state electrochemistry lab.
The demo and attendance this Wednesday are not mandatory (except for those who know they have some lab to catch up), but of course very recommended :-)
I have not gotten a confirmation from the department regarding where we can have the lectures this Wednesday. Let's meet at Berzelius at 12.15 and be there or find a place. I intend to go through Chapter 12 - Steady state voltammetry. Updated slides uploaded today.
Hi all, as mentioned in the lectures before Easter, lectures and colloquium are not listed in the schedule for Wednesday 20th this week. However, we will will have ordinary lectures and colloquium that day. Probably in Berzelius as usual. I will lecture the next chapter and we'll do exercises and work on the lab 2 report.
Moreover, I alert you that we on Wednesday 27th will have the teaching in 澳门葡京手机版app下载sparken: It will be a tour of the Electrochemistry lab and a demo plus on-site calculations of Lab 2d (RDE), plus continued chance to get lab report accepted. This tour and demo are not mandatory, but useful illustrations of the curriculum.
Hi all, important info follows:
1. Lecture and colloquium today as normal in Berzelius.
2. Lecture Monday 4. April is cancelled.
3. Lab 2 runs next week, Wednesday 6/4 12.15-17 in ?U14.
4. Lab-visit to IFE is Wednesday 4. May 12-17. Lab-visit to SINTEF is Wednesday 25. May 12-17.
Both are mandatory. Info on travel and place will come later.
IMPORTANT: I will make name lists of all of you who have followed the lab 1 and 2 and send to IFE and SINTEF. Let me know if there are changes I should be aware of. You must bring identification on the days of the visit. Foreign nationals must provide the nationality and passport number to me ASAP, and bring the passport on the days of the visit.

This week we have normal lectures and colloquium.
Monday 28/3, I lecture Ch 10 Electrode polarisation, and Wednesday and next Monday we continue to do Ch. 11 Corrosion. This Wednesday 30/3 we also do colloquium on these chapters, with exam exercises, and we prepare a bit for the lab next week. Next week we have normal lectures Monday 4/4 and then we have mandatory Lab 2 on Wednesday 6/4.

Use the time to do and send me the EIS exercise if you haven't done so already.
Most of you have submitted excellent Lab 1 reports - some of you waiting for a discussion with us during Lab 2 - no hurry to submit second version in that case. If you lag more behind than that - use this week well to catch up.

Mandatory exercise in Electrochemical Impedance Spectroscopy (EIS) is today 12.15-16.00 in Dalton. Bring your laptop. Slides I will use are uploaded.
The lectures Mon 14/3 are cancelled.
The practical lab Wed 16/3 will as such be postponed to April 6. This Wednesday March 16 we will instead do a mandatory Impedance Spectroscopy "lab" (exercise). Bring your laptops. Meet at Berzelius at 12.15. I expect we spend 4 hours.

Hi all,

Next week is Lab 1:
Monday, we may start on Ch. 9, but the important message is that we go through the exercises of Lab 1. All in Berzelius. Be there - it helps to be prepared, and to get the lab report done.
Wednesday is Lab 1: It is in ?U 14 in the Chemistry building. 12.15-17.00. It is mandatory. Be there on time, bring your lab coat.

Hi all, I have uploaded exercises for Ch 7.
Plans for tomorrow, all in Berzelius:
12.15: You work on first exercises (Faraday's law etc.) I may not be there yet due to a conflicting duty.
13.15: I lecture the last part of Ch. 7.
14.15-16.00: We do the remaining exercises. This will be good practice for understanding BV.

We had in my opinion fun in Berzelius with exercises for Chapters 5 and 6 today. We learned a lot, especially me, about poorly phrased questions and incorrect answers in the hidden text. I have upgraded and corrected for Ch 5 and posted a new version of it. I encourage more to come to the exercises - we work in groups on the whiteboard and learn mostly from our plenty of mistakes.
We'll finish lectures in Ch 6 and mainly go through exercises for Ch 5 and 6 (uploaded) today.
Exercises Ch 5 is updated: Two questions are reformulated to be clearer. Answers and solutions or hints are provided. Working on Ch 4...
Some of you have asked for recordings of exercises. They are generally not recorded, sorry.
Lectures and exercises are physical only, in scheduled rooms (see schedule here on the semester page) from Monday 7/2. Changes may occur on short notice.
If you are unable to attend lectures due to covid quarantine, and you require to have a digital alternative, give me a notice by email or sms (99257611) asap before the lecture starts.
We may not be able to provide a digital alternative to exercise classes.
