UNIK4280 – Performance Evaluation

Course content
Introduction to stochastic systems, basic queuing theory, the concept and some practice in discrete event simulation, and analysis of simulation and measurement results.
Learning outcome
To give students better understanding of stochastic systems, and basic methods to analyse performance of communication systems.

Prerequisites
Formal prerequisite knowledge
None.
Recommended previous knowledge
Some backgrounds in statistics and communication networks.
Teaching
2 hours of lectures and 2 hours of problem solving per week.
Examination
Oral or written examination, depending on the number of students.
Grading scale
Grades are awarded on a scale from A to F, where A is the best grade and F is a fail. Read more about the grading system.
Explanations and appeals
Resit an examination
Students who can document a valid reason for absence from the regular examination are offered a postponed examination at the beginning of the next semester.
Re-scheduled examinations are not offered to students who withdraw during, or did not pass the original examination.
