INF5730 – Implementing Health Information Systems - An Anthropological Perspective

Course content

This course will provide theoretical concepts and empirical experiences of the implementation of health information systems drawing upon an anthropological perspective. The focus will be on emphasizing the ground level practical realities that exist in the field while implementing health information systems. Some of the ground realities that will be focused on will include issues of work practices, culture, political negotiations, representation, and social relationships. These will be illustrated through case studies from both the developing and developed world.

Provide a background useful for implementing information systems both in the developing and developed world.

Teaching

A total of 24 hours teaching given in a two week period.
