In the two lectures of ¡­

In the two lectures of this week (Monday 7 and Tuesday 8 of March) the following program has been done:

• Boundary conditions of PDEs (page 73 to 87 from the file PDEextrachapter5.pdf that you can find on my web page)
• Two Boundary value Problems (Chapter 2 of the textbook) from page 39 to page 65. Last section 2.4 about Eingenvalue problems will be done during the solution of the heat equation next week.

Next week the exercise session will be of 3 hours, on Monday 14 of March, from 9 to 12 on the following exercises:

• From the text book 2.2, 2.3, 2.4, 2.5, 2.6, 2.7, 2.8, 2.9, 2.11, 2.14, 2.19, 2.23 and Project 2.1.
• From the file PDEExerciseBC.pdf on my web page 5.13 and 5.16

On my web page you can download the Assignment for the mid term Exam. At the end of this one exercise has been canceled. Substitute this with exercise 5.14, 5.15, 5.17 from the file PDEExerciseBC.pdf on my web page. The Assignment should be due by 12 of Monday 21 of March to Kristina Rognlien Dahl (email: kristrd@math.uio.no) by email or by hand at the exercise session. IMPORTANT: Write your email on your Assignment so that she could inform you by Wednesday 23 if you have passed or not. She will have then 1 hour of discussion on Thursday the 24 of March, from 14 to 15, in which she will give some explanation about the solution. The eventual second chance will be due by Monday the 28 of March.

Next week lecture as usual on Tuesday and also on Friday 17, usual time from 14 to 16, at the usual room of the lectures. The week after only usual exercise session on Monday 21 plus one hour on Thursday 24 dedicated to the Assignment.
