The first lecture is over. I have lectured Section 7.1, 7.2 and (the start of) 7.3 of our book. I will continue to lecture Section 7.3 next week.

Here are some exercises that you may try to solve during the next few weeks:

• Sec 7.3.1 (page 249): ex 1, ex 2 ex 3, ex 4, ex 5, ex 9a, ex 9b.
