Group projects

It is now time to choose group projects. You'll find more information about the possible group projects here.

Each group should have 3-4 people, and multiple groups will be doing the same tasks. There is a contest between the groups, and the best group will get LinkedIn recommendations and possibly more. You can enter your group project preference here.

We will try to give people's preferences, but may have to break someones wishes for practical reasons.

Please sign up by Tuesday 15th October. Those not signing up will be considered not to want to finish the course, and will not be assigned to a group, and will also not be able to pass the course.

The project descriptions use the term 'App' quite loosely. In general, we're talking of a web-based application, but you could extend these projects to include a mobile app also. The exact project definition is flexible, and it is up to the group together to scope and define their contribution more precisely.

There are 6 different possible projects, and these are:

- Touch-based visualization application for DHIS2 health data
- DHIS2 survey application with skip logic
- Social network integration for DHIS2
- Geo-location based data entry (select location on map, enter data, view on map)
- Embedding web applications into the patient tracker (enhance flexibility)
- Discussion forum for DHIS2 (web application of existing annotation-functions)

These projects could all be very useful in real life deployments of DHIS2, if they are done well and with the right functionality/usability. All of the above are also examples of what one could continue doing in a DHIS2 master thesis, then also with focus on deploying and testing it in the field.
