Notes on linear elasticity can be found here.
There is no exercise this week and the next week because
we have covered most of the material lectured so far.
Exercises for next week are 7.1-7.7.
Next week we start on iterative methods.
The previous chapter 7 is now chapter 4. The previous chapter 2 is now 3.
So far, we have gone through (in the current numbering) the
chapters 1, 3, and parts of 4.
Exercises for next week are: 7.1, 7.2, 7.3, 7.5, 7.6, 7.7.
The lecture notes has been updated (minor changes).
Pytave may be installed as follows:
sudo add-apt-repository ppa:johannr/test-ppa
sudo apt-get update

We have gone through most of Chap 1, 2, and 3.
Next time we will start on Chap 7, before Chap 5 and 6.
Exercises to be done are 2.1 to 2.5. However, it is not yet clear when the exercises will be.
The lecture notes are here
Lectures notes are here.
Background material is "Numerical models for differential problems" by Alfio Quarteroni.
Other good books are "Finite Elements: Theory, Fast Solvers, and Applications in Solid Mechanics" by Braess and "The Mathematical Theory of Finite Element Methods" by Brenner and Scott.
We use FEniCS, you can find you more about it here.
You can download or by the book here.
