The authors of the text book have updated their errata and we have removed all the overlapping corrections that we had in our document and also highlighted the few points where we have additional comments on the book. See Syllabus page.

The lectures on fractional models concentrated on mechanical models. But as some of you work with radar, it should be noted that these models are analogous to models for electromagnetic wave propagation in complex media like soil (ground-penetrating radar) and human tissue (biomedical radar).

• The mechanical Zener model = the Debye model 
• The fractional Zener model = the Cole-Cole model 
• The multiple relaxation model = sum of several Debye models with different time constants 

The mechanical models are outlined in Attenuation part 2.

Paper copies of solutions will be handed out on 11 February. Sorry, no electronic distribution.

For those who need a refresher in stochastic processes and estimation theory we recommend also to follow INF4480 for the first three weeks. The first lecture in that course is 20 January 10.15-12.
