The intention of the Music Impro App project was to develop a prototype application that may support the goals set by the RHYME project through the use of common smart phones running traditional software platforms. These mobile devices have a range of different sensor input, like accelerometers, orientation sensors and magnetic fields sensors, that is not yet widely used in application development. By facilitating these types of sensor technology, we aim to turn the users mobile device into a music instrument that will be easy to play with and intuitive to use and inspire co-creation of music through the use of movement and gestures.
