Programming assignment
This is the specification for the mandatory programming assignment.
Completing and getting the assignment approved is a prerequisite to be allowed to take the INF5040 exam (unless it has been approved during a previous semester).
Servers with preconfigured JBoss environments are available for all groups. Can be accesses at inf5040grXX.ifi.uio.no (where XX is replaced by your group number 01, 02 etc.)
Student presentations
Preferences regarding presentation topic can be sent to joakimfi(at)ifi(dot)uio(dot)no (same goes for topic suggestions, such a suggestion needs to be approved by Frank or Roman though), until the the end of week 39 (Friday 28th of Sept).
Completing and getting the presentation approved is a prerequisite to be allowed to take the INF5040 exam (unless it has been approved during a previous semester).
Every presentation session consists of 30 min presentation of the topic by the group assigned to it, the 15 min Q&A, where the group in opposition can ask their question. Of course anyone can ask question regarding things about the presentation that they found unclear or didn't understand. Remember, however, that the group who is in opposition on a topic should have researched the topic, and prepared some questions in advance!
This page lists the topics and the presentation schedule!
The amount of reference material suggestions and links vary for the different topics, as there isn't as much material available for some of the topics. It should be pointed out, however, that it is the responsibility of the groups to evaluate the propesed reference material, prioritize what material to include in case of very big topics, as well as search for additional reference material if needed. You can of course consult one of the teaching staff if something is unclear!
I a group should need to change their topic or presentation time after the topics are first assigned, they should do this on their own by consulting with the other groups (also remember to consult the groups assigned to be in opposition). This should be done in good time before the time scheduled for the presentation, and the group teacher needs to be informed of any such switches, so the schedule can be updated!
