There is no limit to the number of students accepted in IN5010 (INF5011) and IN9010 (INF9011). Everyone is welcome. If you have a problem matching two long courses with this intensive course, consider taking this course as your only course in your third semester. The topics and writing exercises are helpful for when you are writing your thesis. Also the exam essay can be re-used as a chapter in your master thesis.

The faculty has decided to change the course code from INF5011 (INF5012) to IN5010. There is a new course page with information about the course:

http://www.uio.no/studier/emner/matnat/ifi/IN5010/index-eng.html

but there is not yet a page for this semester, so until then, I keep you updated on this page.

Don't worry if you have registered for INF5011; the administration will change that in IN5010.

Contact me if you have any questions!

Good start of the semester!

The course will run three days a week for five weeks. The administration has announced that these three days are Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday. This means that you can choose semester-long courses on Monday and/or Friday. This is an intensive course and 80% participation is one of the mandatory assignments. Attendance on the first day of the course (Tuesday, November 7th) is mandatory for all, because you will receive important information and we will form project groups.

More information about the course content is coming soon. We will have three mandatory assignments (80% participation, three short essays, group project presentation). The exam consists of a take home exam (exam essay).

Enjoy the rest of the summer!

Greetings,

Maja

WELCOME to Design, Technology, and Society

The course site for INF5011 / INF9011 is not giving the right information yet. The course will be called "Design, Technology, and Society" and will run week 45-49 (the week starting with Monday November 6 - the week ending with Friday december 8). We will meet 3 days a week, from about 10:00 - 16:00. I am not sure yet which days of the week this will be. The administration is working on the schedule.

We will have more or less a similar programme as last year. We will not use the book, because I am preparing a syllabus for you, which you can buy at Akademika (more information is coming).
