Dear INF3490/4490-students,

Thank you for attending the course. It has been a pleasure having you as students, and we hope that you have found the course interesting and relevant. We?ll be happy to have your feedback through the FUI student evaluation system.

Regarding the exam, please note that the exam location for INF3490 students is different from INF4490 students (please check your student account or the course web page for the exact location). Kai and Jim will be visiting the different locations in the first half of the exam time (starting in Silurveien 2) to answer questions you may have.

Best wishes for the exam,

Group teachers, Kai and Jim

Wednesday 16 November is the last lecture in the course. It will contain a brief overview of the course with focus on practical information. However, we would be open to answer questions and repeat topics in the syllabus based on requests. If you have something you would like us to cover, it would be helpful if you let us know in advance by sending us an e-mail.

Please note that NO materials (including books or handouts) are permitted to be used during the exam.

Kai and Jim

Optional reading: Here is an interesting popular-scientific summary of the field of deep learning. It also shows how it relates to several other topics we have discussed in class, such as perceptrons, multilayer neural networks and reinforcement learning.
