There has been some mixups and glitches concerning the Home Exams - I am trying to sort things out with Oleks...
If you are NOT on the Oral Exam list but expected to be, please contact me ASAP - see previous message!

The schedule for the oral exam has been uploaded.
The questions for the exam have been uploaded a long time ago. Recall that you will be asked to draw a question amongst the published questions. This will be the main question; however, also expect secondary questions drawn from other of the questions.
Thanx to all for re-entering their choice for the oral exam - all have gotten a slot that they wanted.
IF there is anyone that is NOT on the list - and they believe that, well, hey, I think I deserve to be on the list - then contact me IMMEDIATELY:
- Send me an e-mail explaining your viewpoint.
- Send me a SMS (or Viber or Signal) message at +4540251650.

Dear students,
To drive home some of the most prevalent issues with Oblig1, I have made a couple screencasts:
These videos are unlisted on YouTube, and I will eventually hide them after the course is over. So instead of relying on announcements, for postings of new videos, please follow along on Mattermost.

Dear students,
I have now published some notes on solving exercise set 2. It is important that you work through this exercise set and understand how and when to use the unavailable construct in Emerald.
It is also important to realize that the move construct does not guarantee that an object moves, but merely provides a hint to the runtime that it might be worthwhile to move an object. Hence, if your goal is to test how quickly something moves about, then you only using move does not suffice!
Notes on Exercise Set 2 provide details on what you need to remember.

Dear students,
PlanetLab will allow us to see how things will work out when there is some physical distance between our Emerald nodes.
I have published a guide on how to register and start using Emerald for running Emerald programs here.
You should set up an account, and try and log in on a couple PlanetLab machines today.
I will be available to assist you via Mattermost and Zoom, today 14:15 to 16:00, but you can post your questions on Mattermost any time.

Planetlab is now ready for IN5570 use :-)
I have added the first batch of registrants and added them to the course slice.
REMEMBER to use University of Copenhagen DIKU as the site when registering.
HAVE FUN!
And if you have problems using Planetlab (likely!) come to Oleks' TA session!

Hi everyone,
Your old, absent-minded professor has now uploaded the 2021 version of Oblig 1. Obviously, the 2019 version (with a 2018 deadline!) was wrong!
Also I have uploaded BETTER versions of hito.txt and kilroy.txt. Rename them to .m after download.
Devilry for the oblig has been opened.
Sorry for the confusion - at least the texts are almost identical! So the main difference is the deadline ;-)
-- Eric
PS. Thanks to the student that pointed this out :-) I owe you a beer ;-) (Post-corona...)
