Hi everyone!

After today's lecture (October 18), only one week of lectures remain in the course, from November 18 to 22. There are three important things to prepare for that week:

  1. Those groups (10 and 11) who have yet to do a paper presentation will do so.
  2. Each group will do a final presentation of their project. You’ll have *15* minutes for this, plus 7.5 minutes for questions and discussion.
  3. Your final paper for the course is due by Friday November 22nd at 23.59.

Good luck with the last weeks of your projects!

Hi everyone!

The schedule for lecture week 2 is now online. In this lecture week, you will fill a large part of the schedule yourselves. Each group will:

1. Have a mid-term presentation of your project progress (max 10 min per group). Here, you will present what you have done so far on your project: Present the problem, your idea, potentially also related work and results if relevant.

2. Present papers related to your problem. Each group of 3 will present 3 papers related to your problem in a 20-minute presentation. (Groups of 2 present 2 papers, groups of 1 present 1 paper, around 7 minutes per paper) You should check the papers you select with your supervisor, and can use the papers suggested for your project here if you want:

Hi everyone!

As I mentioned in the first lecture, each group will review and present 3 papers related to their project (or 1 paper per group member if you are not exactly 3). Those presentations will take place in the second and third weeks of lectures. In addition, reading those papers should be a good way to get you started on the project. The suggested papers are available here:

Next week, we will prepare a schedule for the presentation sessions including distributing the papers among the groups.

Teaching will take place in three weeks during the semester:

26–30 August

14-18 October

18-22 November

The lecture hours will be from 14:15 to around 18:00 in the lecture room indicated in the online schedule. Note that the lecture room changes from day to day - it is unfortunately impossible to reserve the same room for the whole week, due to conflicts with other courses.

In the first week of the course, students will be introduced to a number of different projects, and choose one which will be their focus for the rest of the semester.

Topics to be covered: Evolutionary Robotics, Recurrent neural networks, Deep Reinforcement Learning, Mobile Robotics, Practical Machine Learning Applications
