Hi,
Please read the following pdf explaining the changes to the course structure. Please send an email to Roman if you have any question ahead of the 25th of May.
Dear students,
the video presentation about Scaling Blockchain has just been published.

Dear students,
The following change to the structure of the course has been approved by the faculty:
The grade will be pass or fail this semester.
There will be a written home exam instead of an oral exam. Essentially, the exam will require that you answer a number of questions about specific paper(s) studied in the course.
The exam assignment will be given on the 25th of May and you will be given 7 days to complete the exam. The scope of the exam is such that it is possible to complete it within two days (that is 16 work hours), assuming you are previously familiar with the material of the course.
Admittance to the exam: Only students who made a presentation in front of the class or submitted a recorded presentation will be admitted to the exam.
Besides, and as already announced, you will need to submit summaries for at least 75 percent of the topics by 11th...
Dear students,
we would like to clarify that in-person teaching and presentations are cancelled, however the teaching of the course continues in a different form: the students can and should continue reading the material, record the presentations, communicate with
the teachers, and prepare for the exam. Details about the format of this semester exam will follow.
Take care
Dear students,
the presentation schedule is available here. Please contact Andrea for any issue.
Best regards

ABSTRACT OF THE TALK:
Riding on the blockchain wave, there has been a recent resurgence of P2P storage networks. Similarly to how public blockchains have the potential to pool CPU resources, the P2P storage networks promise to pool together the worlds hard drives, exploiting unused storage resources and thus creating cheap storage for everyone.
The storage networks aim to store as much data as possible off-chain, only keeping a minimum amount of metadata on ...
