Best wishes for your final exam preparations!
There's an opportunity to join an exam preparation Q&A session on Friday 9 December at 12h15 with the group teachers.
This will take place in Ole-Johan Dahl building and Auditorium Smalltalk, floor 1.
[Note that this session does not show up in the timeplan web.]
Here you find about how to contact our guest lectureres from Elliptic Labs: follow link to the list (requires login)
As a resource, we her provide some supplementary suggestions: lists of essential course contents / additional course contents (PDF links)
We plan to hold the oral exams during December 13, 14, and 15.
There will be some freedom to swap assigned timeslot in case you have study related reasons, e.g., that there’s a conflict with another exam.
The exact schedule will come later when we know with more certainty the number of students qualified and registered for the exam.
Maria will be in charge of both the mid-term project support lectures on Friday 14 October. Both these sessions will take place in the room "Shell" (and not in "Smalltalk").
Remember that we have a dedicated forum, Discourse, for discussions and sharing tips and tricks. The lecturers and group teachers sometimes also post additional notes. You can also post anonymously in this forum.
Please follow the link provided under the Forum & repo.
It seems like the auto-imported calendar events are incomplete. We're trying to make the study administration correct this.
Hence, we clarify the following:
- If you're assigned to the group session on Tuesdays, then you're also assigned to the Friday weekly submission session at 12h15-14h.
- If you're assigned to the group session on Wednesdays, then you're also assigned to the Friday weekly submission session at 14h15-16h.
It is possible for students at UiO to install Matlab on your computer. There is at least two ways of doing this. I recommend to install a "off-line version" via Mathworks, AND NOT TO INSTALL EVERYTHING!!!
The other option is to install via USIT, but then you will get a full install (>30GByte) instead of what you really need (<6GByte).
To do:
Follow the instructions for Windows (More or less the same approach applies for Mac and Linux).: Go to https://www.winprog.uio.no/programmer/matlab/matlab-offline-install.html
and follow the instructions. Make sure to choose "Advanced options" and choose one or a few toolboxes. You will need "signal-processing-toolbox". You might want "image-processing-toolbox", but I don't think you will use it in IN3190/4190. The reason for only choosing one or a few toolboxes is that the size of the installation becomes reasonable (I think <6 GByte) instead of >30GByte).

We are pleased to welcome all students to the first session on 22 August!
We strongly encourage you to com to this on-site meetup – although this is not officially mandatory in order to follow the course. (So if you will follow the course but cannot come to the first session, it is greatly appreciated if you can send us lecturers an e-mail.)
Please visit the Timeplan panel, from where links to the teaching material is added regularly.
