Teaching organization

Because of the corona pandemic, we last year made some adjustments to the teaching. We are trying to keep some of the things that worked well, and aim to make the classroom sessions more interactive.

Lectures

During the pandemic, we had good experiences with letting students study the lecture videos at home, and having an interactive Zoom-session covering the week's material. Many students reported liking this setup, and we will therefore continue with something similar this year. We will have two lecture-related activities:

  • A weekly interactive session in the classroom, Thursdays at 10:15 am
  • Weekly prerecorded video lectures

The work will be organized into weeks. A week will start and end with the interactive Thursday session. We will start the week by introducing the theme for the week and the main learning goals for the week. This will be followed by the videos which you may watch at your own pace when you find it convenient. We will conclude the week the following Wednesday where you may ask questions to the videos and the weekly curriculum. The weekly videos will be roughly 90 minutes, sometimes longer, sometimes shorter.

Group sessions

We will offer weekly 2-hours group sessions. There will be weekly exercises for the group sessions and possibilities for discussing the mandatory assignments.

Mandatory assignments

There will be three mandatory assignments. All assignments must be passed to qualify for the final exam. They are graded on a pass-fail scale. For deadlines see this page.
