Due to low group attendance, we are consolidating the groups and scaling down the number of seminars each week from 3 to 2.

Please indicate your preferred times by submitting the following form so that we know which time slot to cancel: https://nettskjema.no/a/in3030-2025

Due to a small chaos on my side I will begin today's session with about 30 minutes delay. I am really sorry for the inconvenience.

As you might be aware, there was an error in the oblig text saying that the deadline was "Wednesday 11.02". The true deadline was supposed to be Tuesday 11.02. Due to the confusion, we have decided to extend the deadline to Wednesday 12.02. Still 23:59.

If you had requested a 3-day extension, you are not affected by this change.

As one student noted, in the description of the task, the deadline is described as Wednesday February 11th 2025, while today it is Tuesday. Please remember, that the deadline is today, not tomorrow. Good luck and sorry for the confusion. :)

As announced at the lecture, there will be a Prep Course/Forkurs concerning Threads and Synchronization on Monday February 27th, 2025 14:15-16:00 at C in OJD.

Eric

The main purpose of the Forkurs is to assist you with getting Java installed and writing your first multithreaded "Hello world" program so that you are ready for the regularly scheduled seminars, and the upcoming oblig.

Hi, I have run the first assignment, ukeoppgaver, thru DeepL translation to English and uploaded the result, which is NOT editable, so I list the corrections here:

  • "Bond 1" is "Oblig 1"

Good luck with the assignment.

Hi, welcome to you all :-)

Most of the lecture materials will be lecture notes - if you want a preview - look at last year's lectures!

This is a Learn-by-Doing course that will require you to do a lot of programming and, hopefully, get some exciting timing results.

We have two seasoned and experienced Teaching Assistants, Michal and Oliver - both far into their graduate studies - and this is the second year, they are doing the job.

I will be holding most of the lectures with Michael also taking some - and, with some luck, a good guest lecturer.

See you Wednesday January 22nd, 2025 at 14:15 in the large auditorum at Kristian Nygaards Hus.

Sincerely, Eric

PS. To IN4330 students: Note that ALL info will be on the IN3030 pages - dublicating it onto IN4330 pages is merely a waste of time - and error-prone :-/
