Course content
Basic limnology is introduced through lectures, practical work in the field and in the laboratory, and student presentations of theory and results. The course covers basic “eco-hydrology” for hydrology students. The field course will be held at the start of September.
Learning outcome
The course gives a basic insight into the natural state of lakes, and their different stages of development as a result of natural and anthropogenic processes.

Prerequisites
Recommended previous knowledge
Bachelor's degree (or similar to that) in Biology, Environmental sciences or Geosciences/Chemistry (including hydrology).
Teaching
Teaching takes place in week 34-39 and consists of lectures, field work and Laboratory exercises. Attendance to the first lecture is mandatory.
As the teaching involves laboratory and/or field work, you should consider taking out a separate travel and personal risk insurance. Read about your insurance cover as a student.
Examination
Approved participation, essay (weighted 20%) and 3 h written exam in week 39 (80%).
Grading scale
Grades are awarded on a scale from A to F, where A is the best grade and F is a fail. Read more about the grading system.
