Review before exam: Wednesday May 21 12.15pm-3pm (AUD. II). You can ask questions, review of older exams and feedback on Matlab and Promax exercises.
1. Log into machine:
- if you are using Windows open X-WIN32 and select jern
- if you are using Linux, open a terminal window and type ssh -Y jern
2. Type promax
3. ProMAX should now open.
A ppt-file promax-2014.pptx has been placed in the course folder (forum). Each group should download and make sure that this presentation is available during the Promax lab. Please study the second part in advance of the lab. Alternatively this ppt-file can be accessed from /felles/kurs/GEO4280_V13

Four different short notes have been placed in the course folder at the UniGEO Forum.
Elastic Waves (p. 51 and Chapters 5-7 in textbook), Seismic Acquisition (all chapters in textbook), Seismic Signal Theory and Processing (all chapters in textbook) and Seismic Imaging (all chapters but only a summary of sublevels). In addition, supporting materials posted during the course.
First lecture Tuesday January 14.
At the first lecture you will be given information about how to use the e-learning system GeoCLASS. You will also be given a licence code in order to be able to access the system.
After having registered as a user of GeoCLASS goto webpage www.unigeo.no and log in (using same username and password). Then click on the GeoCLASS button at the top and then choose forum on the list to the left. Course material is placed in a GEO4280 course folder. In this folder you will find course schedule and a set of problems including MATLAB exercises. In addition, during the run of the course, supporting materials will be posted.
Textbook: Petroleum Geophysics Volume 2 (published by UniGEO) available at Akademika. It covers the syllabus of both GEO4280 and GEO4260.
