Solutions to exams from 2011 and 2013 have been posted at the forum.
Friday November 28 between 12.15 -15.00 (AUD II): questions and summary of the course. Also review of earlier exams from 2011 and 2013.
The H-R lab will take place in the computer room 2nd floor in the ZEB building.
Note that the Hampson-Russel lab has been moved from week 41 to week 42.
After having registered as a user of GeoCLASS, goto webpage http://www.unigeo.no and log in (using same username as password). Then click on the GeoCLASS button at the top and choose Forum from the menu list to the left. Look for a GEO4260 course folder where you will find: (1) course/lecture plan, (2) set of exercises and (3) 6 different short notes.
Textbook to be used is available at Akademika. The title of the book is Petroleum geophysics (volume 2) and it is published by UniGEO. The textbook is to be used in combination with the e-learning system GeoCLASS. At the first lecture you will be given information about how to use GeoCLASS. You will also begiven a licence code in order to be able to access the system.
Elastic waves: all chapters in textbook except subsections 4.6.1-4.6.10. Seismic attributes: all chapters in textbook (+ 2 short notes: Introduction to inversion and Joint-inversion-AVO). Rock physics: chapter 1-6 (+ 2 short notes: Rock_physics-Rev1 and Well-logging_Tech). Reservoir monitoring: all chapters in text book (+ 1 short note: 4D-seismic). Marine CSEM: all chapters in text book (+ 1 short note: CSEM). The course assumes basic knowledge about seismic acquisition and processing (the textbook includes also such material if you need to refresh it).
Due to Svalex 2014, the first lecture will be August 27.
