Review of exam 2006. Questions and summary. Monday November 10th in Aud. II from 9.15am to 3pm.
An updated version of the Seabed Logging 'compendium' is now available from the same website as before. Please make sure that you have this latest version when preparing for exam.
SEABED LOGGING (SBL): Presentation material can be found at http://www.learninggeo.com. You have to log in with username and password. Then choose Forum and finally select the usergroup: GEO4260 UIO 2007. Use the special username and password stated, and probably you have to log in twice before accessing the material.
Deadline for submission of Hampson-Russel lab reports: Friday Nov 23. Electronic submission to gelius@geo.uio.no AND nazmul.haque@geo.uio.no
ROCK PHYSICS: Mandatory reading: Chapter 1-6 plus sections 7.1-7.18.
RESERVOIR MONITORING: Mandatory reading is complete module.
RESERVOIR SIMULATOR: Mandatory reading is complete module except sublevel 3.5 .
FLOW IN POROUS MEDIA: Mandatory reading is Chapter 1 and Sections 2.1 and 2.2.
To make space for upcoming phd-defences, the fridays lectures have been moved into Auditorium 2, starting week 42.
SEISMIC ATTRIBUTES: Mandatory reading is complete module.
Computer lab (Hampson Russel): Monday November 12th 10.15am-3pm, Tuesday November 13th - Friday 16th 9.15am-12. All 5 days in the Visionary. You will work in groups and write a report. Mandatory. This computer lab counts 30%.
Intensive Rock-physics course: Monday October 29th 10.15am-12 and 1.15pm-3pm and Tuesday October 30th 9.15am-12. Both days in the Visionary. Guest lecturer: prof. Tor Arne Johansen, Univ. of Bergen. Mandatory.
No lectures on these dates: Friday October 12th, Monday October 15th and Tuesday October 16th.
ELASTIC WAVES: Mandatory reading is complete module (but no sublevels!).
Prior knowledge about basic seismic processing is assumed. However, the first week of the course will give a brief review of major concepts as well as an introduction to more advanced topics. ADVANCED SEISMIC PROCESSING: Mandatory reading is chapter 3 and 4. Basic knowledge about post-stack migration is assumed (can be found in Chapter 1, you do not need to read sublevels).
Change of room November 13 to Auditorium 3.
Due to Svalex, first lecture will be on Monday September 3rd.
