On Wednesday (18/02) we need to start the lecture already at 9:00 am because of a scheduling conflict with a phd defence.

You can now find the announced notes on path integrals on the semester page, which both summarize what we did so far in the lecture (and a bit more), and fill in some of the gaps... happy reading* ! :)

* reading means of course as usual actual work -- but try do not get hung up in the details of how the path integrals are defined and performed, at least at first and second reading, it's more much important that you obtain a good handle on how to use functional derivatives and generating functionals.

I also just set up the UiO Discourse page that we will use for communicating outside of lecture hours. So please take a look at the detailed guide here if you haven't used this tool before. Look for `fys5120-26v' once you have logged into the platform (with your standard student login).

In general, this kind of tool is really useful once one gets above a critical level of usage. So use it actively to ask and discuss any questions you may have! In fact, feel free to start using it right away for any questions about the background material ! [and yes, the latter is a 'subtle' reminder to actually read the text... :)]
