The midterm problem set will be given by the end of this week, and is due Monday Oct. 3, at 1200. During the group session you will show it to Tore or Johannes and get it approved. Take the opportunity to discuss with us and ask questions about the problems, solutions or other things.

The purpose of the midterm assignment is to learn, and to have the possibility to discuss your solutions, or any problems, with the teachers. There are no formal requirements to pass, except that you show up and want to learn from the process. (Thus skipping the lecture to get more time is definitely counterproductive!)

Morten T. Berg <m.t.berg@fys.uio.no> and Jonny Aarstad Igeh <j.a.igeh@fys.uio.no> will be student representatives for this course. Contact them and/or me (JS) if there are things you will discuss about the course.

I (Tore) am available for questions concerning the problem sets or anything else related to the course from 2pm to 4pm on Thursdays (if this time is inconvenient for a lot of you, let me know); you can find me at ?428 (the theory section conference room) during these hours. I will also try to answer questions on Discourse the rest of the week.

Second, if there is anything you would like me to go through at the start of a group session (e.g. a part of last week’s problem set, something from the book, etc.), you can send me an e-mail at tore.klungland@fys.uio.no (preferably by the end of the Friday before the session).
