Group exercise attendance and online solutions

We have noted that the number of people who attend the group exercises has decreased significantly; this week only a handful of students handed in their solutions.

Let me remind you that, while the exercises are not compulsory, active attendance is really necessary in order to fully grasp the course content (and to perform well in the exam). The more people attend and contribute to the discussion, the more every one can get out of it. Finally, the fact that example solutions to the problem sets are put online is really just complementary to the group discussions, and meant to be a service to those students who actively contributed. If the exercise attendance continues to be as low as it is now, we will therefore discontinue it.

(Maybe last week was just particularly bad because of home exams in other classes. In that case there are no worries and I'm confident that the problem will simply solve itself ... )
