In problem 2j) I gave the relation d^2S/du^2 = -dE/du. I was planning to give the integrated relation dS/du = -E. Now I updated te file, so both are there.

Two more misprints:

1: In 1e, \alpha should be the cube root, not square root

2: In 1g, the first equation should have an additional D on the right hand side.

The file on the web page is updated with a corrected version

Hi,

There has been discovered 2 misprints in the midterm exam.

1: In question 1a the wavefunction should have the form ψ(x) = Ae^{i?} without any \hbar

2: In question 1d, Equation (2) there were extra 'i' in the exponents in the first line. There should be one 'i' in each exponent, so that the exponent is imaginary.

I have uploaded an updated file on the webpage, but not yet on Inspera (I will send the updated file to the responsible person, but I can not change it myself).

I have now posted the problems for the midterm exam (they should also appear in Inspera shortly). The solutions are to be delivered in Inspera by friday 4/10 at 14:00. Handwritten solutions are fully accepted, and solutions can be written in Norwegian or English as you prefer. If there are unclear points, or you suspect there are misprints in the text (there likely is), send me an email.

Hey everybody! Since you will probably want to work hard on the midterms next week, there will be a group session on the 1. October. Feel free to come and work, and to ask any questions.

Same place, same time. :)

Good luck on your midterms!

Du to collision of lectures, there was a wish to exchange the times for the Tuesday lectures and the problem solving. This means that starting next week, we will do problem solving Tuesdays 10-12 and lectures Fridays 12-14. Both activities will be in room FV414, at least for the moment, and we will see if this works well. This applies even if this is not stated in the timetable and our calendar (I will ask this to be changed, but I do not have access to do it directly).

As the problem solving will now come before the lectures of that week, we expect to shift the problems gradually, so that the problems will be discussed the week after the lectures on the same topic. For next week, I think you can still do problems 2.1-2.3 as they do not require more than we covered in the lectures so far. 2.4 I think you might have seen the tools for in previous courses, so it could be attempted. The last two, I suggest to to delay until the week after.

We will try thi...
