Midterm information

There will be a midterm assignment held in the group exercise session on Wednesday, March 11 (usual time and place). If you cannot attend, please contact Oskar or Jan.?

For each student, we will select one task at random from weekly problem sets 1—6 (so we will not ask questions about problem sets 0 or 7). You will then explain to us (not in front of the class) in words how you would approach solving the task. This should take about 5–10 minutes. It is an advantage to have written solutions for the exercises available, both for the midterm discussion and for any questions you may have about the exercises in general.

You are expected to be able to explain how you would approach solving the tasks. It is not necessary to have solved every task in full ahead of time, having memorized the full solutions, or having prepared a presentation in any form.

In addition to helping us check your progress in the course, the midterm is also a chance for you to ask questions about the problem sets and course material covered so far.?
