The last lecture is Monday 25, 2pm-4pm.
Dear all, the last lecture, with summary and exam discussion, is November 25, 2pm-4pm. We will discuss the projects but also the final structure of the report and the final written exam. Best wishes to you all.
The three versions of project 5 are now available. You will find both LaTeX and PDF files. In addition, there two functions that compute gaussian distributed random numbers and integration points and weights with Hermite polynomials.
Project 4 is now avaliable. It deals with solution of the diffusion equation applied to biological systems.

first of all welcome to a new semester and thanks for having chosen FYS3150/4150. We hope you will enjoy the course.
We will at least try to make our best in order that you'll be pleased.
This is the first of a series of weekly updates about the course.
The most important thing this week is the first lab session.
We have not yet made up the final lab groups since everybody should be able to get his/her first wishes.
The lab sessions are Thursdays 10am-2pm and 2pm-6pm and Fridays 10am-2pm and 2pm-6pm. The last hour, 6pm-7pm,
is open to everybody.
Every session can seat 15 people in front of the permanent computers, but we can seat more people if you come with your own laptop.
There are additional electricity sockets at every table.

First of all thanks so much for your interest in FYS3150/4150. For those of of you planning to follow the course this fall, the first lecture is August 19, 2.15pm-4pm. The lecture hall is Lille Fys. Aud. located on the 2nd floor of the western wing of the Physics building. The webpage for FYS3150 serves also as link for the FYS4150 version of the course.
