Solutions for the final exam (fasit) 2012 is now available

The final result for the exam 2012 is now ready

Solutions to the problems will be given later.

As I said at the end of the lectures:

Knowledge of the sub-section 3.4.1 is not required.

Concerning the small note (9 pages) on the Lorentz-group, only a qualitative (not detailed) knowledge is required.

I repeat:

The problems for the exam (5.june) will be written in english only.

Written answers may be formulated in english or a scandinavian language.

Solutions for exams 2010 and 2011 will be available within a couple of days.

In addition to last lecture wednesday the 23rd,- there will be exercises (13.2 from problem set 13 and last problem from exam of last year) friday the 25th of may.

This week there will be lectures only wednesday the 16th of may (no exercises friday 18!). This will be the last regular lecture (subject: electromagnetic radiation from accelerated charges)

next week there will be one lecture wednesday the 23rd of may with repetition of the most important points of the course.

Problems for previous Mid term- and Final exams are now available

Solutions (Fasit) for Mid term exam 2012 is now available

This week there will be lectures wednesday the 9th and thursday the 10th of may (subject: Electromagnetic fields from moving charges) and exercise on friday the 11th of may. (problem 2 and 3 from exam of 2011. See web)

Solutions for problem Sets (Fasit) number 8-11 are now available.

Some error in the counting of problem sets have unfortunately occurred. Problem set 12 is already calculated last week. Tomorrow Problem 13.1 will be calculated/considered. Problem 13.2 has to be postponed because retarded fields has not yet been covered in the lectures. Instead of 13.2, the first problem from the final exam of 2011 will be calculated (This problem set will be put on the web).

Next week there will be lectures wednesday the 2nd and thursday the 3rd of may (we continue with electro- and magneto- statics) There will be exercises (problem set 12) friday the 4th of may.

This week there is(was) a lecture today wednesday, but nothing tomorrow thursday the 26th. Friday the 27 of april thera are exercises (problem set 11)

A Mid term Evaluation form is now available

Next week there will be lectures (energy and momentum in the elecromagnetic field) wednesday the 18th of april and thursday the 19th of april. There will be exercises (problem set 11) friday the 20th of april

The week after easter it will be exercises wednesday 11th of april(problem set 9 (postoned)) and friday 13 th of april (problem set 10). There will be lectures thursday 12.th of april (more on electromagnetic waves)

In contradiction to earlier info, the Physics building is closed monday to wednesday this week. Therefore: Please remember to bring your entrance card when you deliver your written answers.

The problems for the Mid Term Exam are now available. Absolute deadline for written answers are wednesday 4.th of april at 10.00 a.m. Write your candidate number (not your name!) at the top of the first page. Written answers may be given in english or in a scandinavian language. Written answers should be delivered in a appropriate box (available from mid next week) at the (admin) office of the Physics dept.

Next week there will be lectures (further on electromagnetism) wednesday the 21st and 22nd of march. Friday 23rd of march there will be exercises. Problems of mid term exam 2011 will be discussed .These are now available on this web page.

Magnar Bugge will be on leave for ca. 2 weeks. Therefore there will this week be lectures wednesday the 14th, thursday the 15th AND friday the 16th of march. This will be compensated later with exrecises more than once a week. Problem set number 9 which was scheduled for last week will be postponed.

Wednesday I will give some last comments on relativity. Then I start with electromagnetism.

Solutions for problem set 3,4,5 and 6 are now available. A collection of formulae ;- allowed to use at final exam is now available.

This week there will be lectures on wednesday the 7th and thursday the 8th of march. I will then talk more on relativistic kinematics and dynamics. Friday the 9th of march there will be exercises, where problem set number 9 will be considered.
