We have finished grading the exam. The results will be available on student-web in a few days. GOD JUL.
On the exam you may bring: Approved calculator, D.J. Griffiths: "Introduction to Quantum Mechanics", the printed notes: Time evolution of states in quantum mechanics , Symmetry and degeneracy and WKB connection formulae , one handwritten A4-sheet(2 pages) with your own notes, and K. Rottmann: ``Matematisk formelsamling''
There will be a "regneverksted" on Tuesday 27.11 where you can get help with problem set 13 and any questions you have about old exam problems. On Thursday 29.11 there will not be a regular lecture, but a Questions and Answers session.
We have posted a problem set 13 (not to be handed in and will not count) so you can get some more training chapter 9.
Misprint in problem set 11: 11.1c) the right hand side should be the expectation value of the potential energy, i.e.. the operator x^2 is missing. This has been corrected in the last version
Problem set 11 is now out. This is the penultimate problem set.
The lecture on Thursday Nov. 1 is canceled.
The midterm exam is over. I hope you feel that you have learnt something. Now you can relax a bit, but do not forget problem set 6, it is due on Friday 12.
The Midterm exam is now available. It is due Oct. 5 at 14:30 in the Physics front office. Remember to mark your exam with your candidate number. I've been informed that you will get your candidate number by the end of today. No lectures or help session next week. Good luck.
For those of you interested in the history of physics, read Samuel Goudsmit's recollection of how he and Uhlenbeck discovered the electron spin. It is a nice piece on how discoveries in science are made.
If you feel the need for doing more problems than those in the weekly problem sets, do the *-marked problems in Griffiths. For your benefit I have also compiled a list of recommended problems in Griffiths (many of them *-marked) sorted by topic.
Lecture material for thursday Sept. 6.: Time-development in QM
First lecture is Monday Aug. 20. Welcome!
