PGP290 – Practical pharmacy

Course content

Between the first period, comprising the above subjects, and the second period, comprising scientific work and specialization, the student will work as an apprentice in a dispensing pharmacy. This period includes: - Six months of practical instruction in a Norwegian dispensing pharmacy. - Theoretical instruction in the laboratory and prescription routine.

Learning outcome

The aim is to familiarize the student with the different aspects of practical work in a pharmacy, such as: - dealing with customers - contact with medical practitioners - routines for handling prescriptions for drugs. During this period the student must deliver a written report comprising ten analyses covering the seven main fields of subjects.
